Carnarvon Kite and Windsurfing

Carnarvon from October to early April has consistent winds making it the perfect spot for kite and windsurfing enthusiasts.  The daily 15 to 30km winds in October to April makes Carnarvon ideal for windsurfing and kitesurfing, whether you are a beginner or an experienced rider.

Kitesurfing and windsurfing are popular water sports in Carnarvon. Carnarvon offers ideal conditions for these activities due to its consistent wind patterns and beautiful coastal scenery. Kitesurfing involves using a large kite to harness the wind's power and propel oneself across the water on a board. Windsurfing, on the other hand, utilises a sail attached to a board to navigate the water. Both sports require skill and practice to master, but they offer thrilling experiences for enthusiasts.

The annual Windfest event celebrates the vibrant wind sports community in the area. It is a gathering of enthusiasts who come together to showcase their skills, participate in competitions, and enjoy the coastal beauty of Carnarvon. The event offers a range of activities such as freestyle competitions, races, and demonstrations by professional riders. It also provides an opportunity for beginners to have a go.

You can't beat the thrill of gliding over the waters within the Fascine waterway, or out in the ocean off Pelican Point all the way down to the river mouth.  Miaboolya Beach is heavenly and has a wide expanse of stunning sun kissed beach to take off on your board or sit back and relax watching a REAL-ly vibrant sunset.

This is a remote destination, and you will be required to travel on unsealed roads.  Weather events may impact road conditions.
