Carnarvon Library and Art Gallery
Come and enjoy the quiet relaxed atmosphere and soak up some peace and tranquillity for a while. Comfortable lounges, study nooks and booths, bright inviting children's area, there is something for everyone's comfort and enjoyment at the library and art gallery.
Centrally located at 18 Egan Street, this vibrant facility offers a wide range of resources and services for the community and our visitors. This facility is cool, calm and a beautiful place to sit relax, check your emails or read a book. Our welcoming staff will take very good care of your needs.
Library
Our Library is open to everyone, locals, visitors and bookworms.
Patrons have access to eight computers all with internet access. Wi-Fi is also accessible within the facility. These services are limited to only one hour and additional fees and charges will apply if additional time is used. Reservations must be made in advance by either calling 9941 3727 or email.
Printing, scanning and photocopying services are also offered. Printing from the Library's public computers or personal devices is also provided. You are able to scan documents directly to your email address in A4 or A3.
A diverse collection of books, DVDs, magazines and special collections are available for your selection. We offer our visitors temporary Visitor Membership during their stay is one of our many services we offer visiting tourists in our town. Why not use our e-library resources and borrow an e-book or audiobook for your travels. Our Library staff will be happy to assist you.
Our Library staff provide all kinds of programs for children, seniors and families. You can find all these events on the Libraries events calendar on the Library website. Take a look and see if there is something you or your children would be interested in and register.
art gallery
Our art gallery and nook hold some exceptional exhibitions throughout the year. National and International exhibitions are featured here during national and state tours. Carnarvon has a wealth of local artists who also hold solo exhibitions. The Gascoyne Art Society holds is Annual Gascoyne Art Society Awards at the Library and Art Gallery. All exhibitions are listed in the events calendar on Library website.
There are 2 exhibition areas. The main gallery with superb lighting and ambience, and the smaller nook gallery for the small intimate exhibitions with a big voice.

Our co-located facility offers much more, with several areas for community catch ups, study or work space, a local history room, a meeting room for hire, a comfortable lounge area and the art gallery and nook.
